PTSA – Together We Make a Difference!

Ever wonder how PTSA dollars are spent?  The programs described below are funded by PTSA Membership, Donations, and Fundraising.  PTSA does not receive any funds from the school, district, or state.  That’s why your support is needed and much appreciated!

Via our Gift to School donation, PTSA provides every teacher with a Classroom Allowance to buy classroom supplies.  We also organize a Welcome Back Breakfast and the annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon in May.  In addition, the proceeds from our annual Book Fairs are used to purchase new books for the library.

Student Support
PTSA funds the Honor Roll program as well as Above the Crowd.  We provide funding for the Student Recognition End of Year Events, the 7th and 8th Grade Year End Events, and theStudent Services program, which assists students in need.  We also established a Student Liaison, to establish good communication between the student body and PTSA.

Health & Wellness Programs
PTSA sponsors the Meadowbrook Cross Country team.  The team runs twice per week, starting the first week of September until the first week of November.  Five optional meets are held throughout the PUSD middle school campuses.

PTSA joins with the Student Services Dept. to highlight drug awareness during Red Ribbon Week in October.

College & Career Readiness
PTSA hosts an annual Career Fair, where more than 30 participants present a variety of careers for our students to learn about.

Communication Tools
PTSA wants our families to be connected.  We provide a Facebook page, an up-to-date website and all of the school events updated on our Google calendar click HERE

Volunteer Support
PTSA’s Volunteer Coordinator makes sure all volunteers are kept informed of the latest volunteer opportunities at Meadowbrook.  We also fund and organize the annual Volunteer Tea, held in May, where we recognize volunteers for their contributions.

Community Involvement
Community matters to PTSA.  We organize at least one yearly Food Drive, as well as manage the “Adopt-a-Family” program that helps families in need in our community during the holiday season.  We also sponsor the Finish Chelsea’s Run 5K in March

Inclusiveness

We strive to create a climate of inclusion within our board, and promote tolerance and sensitivity for each student and family’s ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, social class and mental/physical ability. Our Diversity & Inclusion Committee was created to establish a cohesive and collaborative partnership with faculty, students, and families to serve the unique needs of our students.
