PE Excuses

OUTLINE OF THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM P.E. EXCUSES

All students are required to participate in P.E. activities unless they are excused. These excuses are varied.
  1. Notes from Home: If a student is unable to participate in Physical Education due to illness or injury, they must have a note from a parent or guardian that states the following:
    • a. Name of Student
    • b. Date
    • c. Reason for exemption - extent of disability
    • d. Signature of parent or guardian e. Parent or guardian’s phone number (work and/ or home)
    • e. A parent’s note may be written for 3 consecutive days. After that, a doctor’s excuse is required.
  2. Doctor’s Excuse: These excuses are from a doctor and will be honored for as long as the doctor designates. All missed days must be made up unless student becomes PE exempt and is sent to the library. A student must be excused by a doctor for a minimum time of two weks to become PE exempt.
  3. Health Office: If a student needs to be sent to the health office for a P.E. excuse during the P.E. period, the student must suit out first and then see their physical education instructor for a pass.
  4. Any student who becomes ill or injured during class will be sent to the health office.
